INTEGRATIVE PSYCHODRAMA

Psychodrama is a therapeutic approach that uses guided drama and role-playing to help individuals explore and resolve personal issues. Developed by Jacob L. Moreno in the early 20th century, this method encourages participants to enact scenes from their lives, allowing them to gain new perspectives and insights.

In addition to individual-focused processes, I incorporate movement therapy, movement meditation and elements of family constellation into my integrative approach. Psychodrama is based on the triad of spontaneity, flexibility and creativity. The stage is the space where any content that needs attention can be freely presented and made accessible and processable through the above three.

Key elements of psychodrama include:

  • The Stage: A safe and controlled environment where the drama takes place.

  • The Protagonist: The individual whose issues are being explored.

  • The Director: The therapist who guides the session, facilitating the process and ensuring safety.

  • Auxiliary Egos: Other participants who play roles in the protagonist's life, aiding in the enactment.

  • The Group: This is the therapeutic context and a safe container where healing can take place for all participants.

Psychodrama can be effective in addressing a variety of issues, including trauma, relationship problems and emotional conflicts. It promotes healing by allowing individuals to express emotions, experiment with new behaviours, and gain empathy for themselves and others.

The sessions are usually run in a group setting, however one-to-one psychodrama therapy is also a very effective option. Sessions can be arranged in person or online.
