KEIRA LEE-BOTOS THE SYNERGY CIRCLE

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Yes, hypnotherapy is generally safe when performed by a trained professional following ethical guidelines and creating a supportive environment. It is a non-invasive approach that relies on relaxation and suggestion. You remain in control and can choose to accept or reject suggestions.

What to expect at the initial session?

In an initial session, you can expect introductions and a welcoming atmosphere. You share your reasons for seeking help and specific issues or goals. I may ask questions about your background and current situation and together, we discuss your therapy goals and what you hope to achieve. I explain how the process works and the techniques used. You have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Will I remember what happened in hypnosis?

Yes, you remember although recollections can be a bit dim sometimes. The aim of hypnotherapy is not to switch off consciousness but to rely on your subconscious mind to process and heal.

How long does a session last?

In a one-to-one setting we usually meet for 60 minutes, in a group setting sessions are somewhere between 3 to 8 hours.

Is it confidential?

Yes, the therapeutic, healing work we do is fully confidential. Please see the exceptions below in my T&Cs.

How many sessions will I need?

The length of the therapy process depends on your unique needs, goals and previous experience. There are topics when one single session is enough, while in other cases you need longer time, even 10-12 months.

What works better: online or in-person therapy?

We are all unique, with different needs and circumstances. Therapy works in the same way both online and in person. During our initial consultation, we can discuss what suits you best. You can also give it a try and see for yourself which setting you prefer. In both cases, there are advantages—it’s simply about identifying what you are looking for in a therapeutic space.

What’s the difference between psychodrama, constellation work and movement meditation?

Psychodrama uses role-playing and dramatisation to explore emotional issues, constellation work focuses more on systemic family (or other community) energy dynamics and ancestral patterns, while movement meditation cultivates awareness of the body and mind as a channel of wider systemic change and realisation.

Do you offer one-to-one psychodrama?

Yes, I offer individual sessions. I also combined techniques if this seems to be the best help when we are working on an issue.

Do I need previous experience to your travelling retreats?

No previous experience is needed although there are some retreats which are for the more advanced in self-awareness or meditation practice. This is always highlighted in the description of the programme and we will address the topic during our initial interview with you.

What is victim-perpetrator dynamics and conferencing?

I work with victim-perpetrator dynamics in a constellation setting, in the quasi-space or in a therapeutic process where representatives help to explore a situation. Victim-perpetrator conferencing is when the harmed and harmer actually meet for a restorative meeting to repair the harm and process the trauma.

What are your fees?

My fees are varied depending on the type of work and setting. However as a guidance one-to-one sessions start from £65/hour, while group sessions start from £7.5/hour, concessions are available. Please enquire about pricing when we discuss your needs.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Data Management and Retention Policy

I comply with all requirements of the Information Commissioner and the Data Protection Act 1998. This commitment includes:

- Valuing the personal information entrusted to me and exceeding the minimum legal standards by adopting high practice standards.

- Considering and addressing privacy and confidentiality issues at every stage of my interactions with clients.

- Being transparent with clients about the extent and limitations of confidentiality (see below).

- Minimising the retention of personal information and deleting it when no longer needed.

Confidentiality

It is important to note that the law may require me to breach our normal confidentiality in the following circumstances:

If I become aware, or have reasonable suspicion, that you have knowledge of:

- A past or future incident/situation that may be dangerous or harmful to a child, yourself, or another adult, and is not known to the relevant authorities.

- Future or past criminal activity that has not been resolved in law. This refers to any criminal activity unknown to the authorities or cases known but not considered closed (provided you do not present information in therapy that could reasonably reopen the case). This applies to "serious offences", which for our purposes, are offences that could lead to imprisonment and for which the sentence has not yet been served.

In such circumstances, I will work with you to see if we can make appropriate disclosures together. It is also mandatory to report terrorism, potential radicalisation, money laundering, and female genital mutilation to the appropriate authorities.

Aside from legal requirements, I will routinely discuss your case with my supervisor to ensure you receive the best service. My supervisor will have access to your details if I am suddenly unavailable, to contact you and offer ongoing care. I may also communicate with your GP but will not share personal details beyond what you are working on.

Please note that I reserve the right to record sessions where it is deemed appropriate.

Anti-discrimination Policy

I am strongly committed to anti-discrimination. I value difference and diversity and do not discriminate based on age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/partnership status, religion, race, colour, national origin, disability, heritage, or political belief.

Cancellation and Missed Session Policy

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify me as soon as possible. The required notice for cancellation is 48 hours. If less notice is given or you do not attend your appointment, you will be charged the full fee. In certain circumstances, this fee can be waived. With adequate notice, where possible, an alternative appointment will be offered.

You will be given as much advance notice as possible regarding holidays or other reasons for cancelling your appointment.

Fees and Payments

My current hourly rate for one-to-one therapy starts from £65, and group therapy from £7.5. Payments can be made in person after each session or via bank transfer.

Social Media and Communication Policy

This policy outlines my use of social media. If you have any questions, please ask.

- Friending: To protect your confidentiality and maintain the therapeutic boundaries I recommend that you follow my practice page on Facebook, The Synergy Circle.

- Interacting: Please avoid using public methods of contact (e.g., @replies or tagging) to protect your confidentiality. You may use Facebook Messenger or text for scheduling appointments or logistics, but not for discussing therapeutic issues.

- Use of Search Engines: I do not routinely search for my clients online. However, in a crisis (e.g., if you miss an appointment and I am concerned for your safety), I may do so. If this occurs, I will inform you at our next meeting.

- Email: Use email only for logistical contact (e.g., appointment reminders) due to potential insecurity or consider using a password-protected Word document.

- Phone: Texting is preferred for appointment scheduling as it is easier to respond to and I cannot answer calls during sessions with other clients.

Death or Incapacity of the Therapist

In the event of my sudden death or incapacity, it is necessary to inform my clients. Therefore, I have arrangements in place with an experienced psychotherapist (currently my clinical supervisor) who will access my contact details and reach out to my clients to offer support and advice. This person will not need access to my confidential client notes.

LOCATION

I work in London (The Practice, 20 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 8QR), Bushey (85 Melbourne Road, Bushey, WD23 3LZ) and online.
